Tony McGuinness has been involved in willow growing and processing since 2007 and is supplying heat and wood chip to both his own and other enterprises in the region. The construction of a large drying facility to process wood chip was undertaken in 2013-14 and now there are two sets of drying bays capable of holding 200 tonnes of wood chip with integrated floor vents for drying and air handling. Some of this chip will be used in the Standard Brands home heat product and more will be used for district heating. Tony received €200,000 grant assistance from the LEADER Rural Development Programme 2007-2013.
